Landshypotek is, fundamentally, a credit union in which the board members are democratically elected. It all began in 1836, and we can proudly point to how well the cooperative idea has worked. The daily activities and the main business operations are carried out in co-operation with Landshypotek AB.
Today we have approximately 52,000 members – all of them farm or forest owners. Because that’s one of our cornerstones. To be part of our community, you have to own a farm or forest property and finance your first mortgage through us. We are very happy to report that the idea has worked splendidly for more than 170 years. We don’t risk any money on speculation. Together, we work towards the goal of offering each other the best terms on the market.

Today we offer basically all of the daily financial services you need for your enterprise and your private life, including favorable banking and insurance services, carefully selected exclusively for our members. Members also receive dividends based on the ordinary interest paid in during the year. Our surpluses are quite simply returned to the members. Four out of ten farm and forest owners are part of our cooperative today. But we can be many more. We have 18 offices around the country. Contact the office nearest you.
