This concept lets us avoid middlemen and external stockholders who want to profit from our interest payments. Instead, our members decide the principles for our business and determine how much to return as dividends on interest paid.

Credit Union and Stock Company (AB)

As a borrower from Landshypotek, you're also a member of Landshypotek Ekonomisk Förening credit union, where board members are chosen democratically. The credit union, in turn, owns all of the stock in Landshypotek AB, which is responsible for the main business activity and runs the day-to-day operations.

One member, one vote

Your influence in the credit union is entirely independent of the size of your loan. The rule is simple: one member, one vote. It's up to you how you want to use it.
